the boxing equations project

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Being a conceptual artist means that all of the planning and decisions are made before the execution of the piece. The idea becomes the machine that makes the art. It is the concept rather than the art piece itself that is important. The artist acts as an architect, designing a plan that can be followed perfectly by anyone because the directions are based on mathematical concepts. – Sol LeWitt and HTH

task one

Task 1 - In the rectangular boxes above you must brainstorm 6 possible ideas for your section of the ‘boxing equation’ sculptures.

There are limitations and requirements you must meet with your possible ideas, such as

1. All lines must travel the length of the rectangle
2. All lines must be straight
3. A minimum of 6 lines to a maximum of 10 lines must be in each rectangle
4. lines must be in a variety of directions
5. Think about how creative you can be with these limitations and come up with as many alternative ideas as you can.

Media you must use is a VERY sharp HB pencil and ruler.
Please be aware the pressure you put on the pencil must be light (so if you make a mistake it can be erased) and lines must best straight and precise.
